We are looking for a Java Software Engineer with a passion for developing high-performance, distributed software solutions to join Q1's world class team of software engineers. You will be an integral part of the development team building the next generation Total Security Intelligence Platform.  You will be designing and implementing the next innovative feature that moves the entire security intelligence space forward.   You will also be investigating new technologies and techniques to understand how to best deliver the next great feature, and then prototyping the new concepts. 

You will also have the opportunity to mentor and coach junior developers in industry best practices, procedures and concepts, including code/design reviews.  You will also work closely with the company's quality assurance and customer support teams to ensure clients continue to receive the most complete and effective network security intelligence solutions in the world.

THE REQUIREMENTS

You have a love of technology and applying the latest techniques to solve new and challenging problems.  You have a proven track record working with highly distributed and performance sensitive environments and building supportable and self healing software systems.  You have extensive experience developing server software in Java, C/C++ and Perl, as well as coding and debugging highly concurrent, distributed multi-threaded applications.  Significant experience troubleshooting and resolving memory leaks and performance issues in software and Linux operating systems is also required.   Technologies you will be using include Linux (Centos, Redhat -2.4/2.6 Kernels), PostgresSQL (8.x+), JMS (IQ 4.x+), Web Services and SOA, JProfiler, Eclipse Memory Analyzer and JMX.
